We are pleased to announce that Jambezi will be performing at the Santos Food & Fire Fest 2011! Jambezi are a grooving marimba band haling from the Sunshine Coast – inspired by the deliciously uncontainable grooves of Africa, a touch of Gypsy spirit and a dab of downtown disco, this marimba sound machine has an upbeat unique style.
As well as performing during the afternoon on the main stage at the festival, Jambezi will also be hosting workshops in the Kidzone at 5pm and again at 6.20pm so you can stop by and have a go for yourself!

After the recent devastating Queensland floods, Alison Alexander (resident foodie and cook at Madonna King’s ABC Brisbane radio show) started receiving numerous phone calls from listeners who had lost all their possessions, including their recipe books which had been passed down from generation to generation.
A Generous Helping – Treasured Recipes from the People of Queensland is the end result of a campaign that was generated from those initial phone calls.
The collection of 150 recipes attempts to regain what was lost in the floods, offering a treasure chest of dishes as diverse and interesting as Queenslanders themselves, and demonstrates once more their resilience and creativity in the face of disaster. All royalties from this book will go to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
Alison Alexander will be signing copies of ‘A Generous Helping’ at Books ‘n’ Beans 46 Wyndham Street, Roma on Friday 9 September between 2.00pm and 4.00pm
